Chloe Shelton

born at 26 weeks 10th August, 2005

I started bleeding at 24 weeks and at 26 weeks had a placental abruption and then went into labour. I gave birth to a lovely baby girl on 10th August 2005 (we hadn't even chosen names) but decided to call her Chloe. She weighed 2lbs. She was taken to the NICU and immediately ventilated for 4 hours and was then transferred onto CPAPS. After a few days her weight had dropped to 1lb 9ozs but slowly Chloe started to put on the pounds. Chloe came home after a stay of 11 weeks weighing 4lbs 4oz. She has been amazing. She is so strong and suffered few setbacks along the way. Whilst in hospital, Chloe had 4 blood transfusions and like all the other premmie mums and dads know, to have your baby in your arms and see them having braddies (heart beats slowly) is a frightening and emotional experience but we are here to tell the tale and most importantly, Chloe is too.
